David-a man who once sought God before every battle, who worshiped through song and defeated lions, bears, and giants in God's name -found himself where he was not called to be. It was a season when kings were meant to be at war, advancing God's purpose, but David stayed behind. He was out of position physically and spiritually. This is what what leads us to Psalms 51- the prayer David wrote with a broken heart when he realized,"It is a cry for restoration: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me".
