Our Mission, Vision, Core Values,
The Mission
The mission of South Tacoma Assembly of God is that, through the love of Jesus Christ, we will reach and transform lives. There are many ways that a person can be reached and changed, but we believe that it is only through the love of Jesus Christ that true transformation can take place.
The Vision
The vision of South Tacoma Assembly of God is to develop, equip, and send out believers to support building the foundation for success in the home and community.
Our Core Values
We value the freedom of worship.
Worship is how we show our love and respect to God. We worship God through Biblical teaching, singing, musical instruments, and dance.
"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks." - John 4:23
"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks." - John 4:23
We value relationships.
Relationships impact our church, community, and our spiritual growth. We love people and strive to build relationships with them so that we can share Jesus with them.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching."
- Hebrews 10:24-25

- Hebrews 10:24-25
We value your walk with God.
Our goal is to assist, teach, and encourage you and those you love to have a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
"And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good."
- Deuteronomy 10:12-13

- Deuteronomy 10:12-13
We value your God-given purpose.
God created you with a purpose for your life. We will train you to accomplish God's purpose and use your talents to serve Him.
"It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."
- Ephesians 4:11-12

- Ephesians 4:11-12
We value prayer.
Last, but not least, we value prayer. Prayer is the basis of our relationship with God. Our goal is to be a church that is a house of prayer for all nations.
"These I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations."
- Isaiah 56:7

- Isaiah 56:7
Our Logo
The V in our logo represents Vision, Valley, and Victory. Vision is our connection to God, valley is where our growth and service happen with the Holy Spirit, and victory in Jesus is where our celebration is. These three V’s form the vessel in which we as a church dwell and operate from.
The helm of a ship is on the inside of the V, and it represents the model used to describe how we will accomplish the mission of South Tacoma. The Helm is the wheel, rudder, or control. For us, it is the Word of God that provides us direction and the ability to navigate through life. There are four inner areas of the helm, and those represent our model: connect, grow, serve, and celebrate. Throughout the processes of visions, valleys, and victories, those four navigation points are consistent to the way we will build upon God's foundation for success in this ministry.
